Pre-workshop activities
Delegate Questionnaire
Please complete the pre-program questionnaire before 17:00 on Monday 15th September 2025. This is essential as it provides us with information about you and your work, as well as your goals for the program.
You can find the questionnaire here.
Some of the questions may be difficult to see on a phone, so we suggest completing it on a desktop, laptop, or iPad.
Preparing for the workshop
During the day, we’ll explore the costs associated with running your business. To help with this we recommend you gather the following information and have it available to you in the session.
- A breakdown of your business expenses from your last tax return (2024/25), including the categories you claimed under, such as computer hardware, mobile phone, fuel, and public transport costs.
- Any pension contributions you’ve made.
- Insurance costs, including healthcare, income protection or life cover.
- An estimate of the time you spend interpreting, travelling, undertaking learning and development activities, and other business-related tasks each week or month.
Please note that this information is confidential, and we won’t ask to see it. However, you can choose to share information in discussions if you wish.
Below is a link to download the WAYW calculator, a tool to help you think about how much you make from what you charge.
Participants in previous workshops told us that looking at and starting to fill the calculator in before the workshop really helped them, so we suggest you have a look too.
All the instructions are in the spreadsheet.
Don’t panic if numbers or spreadsheets send you into a panic. We will run through this together during the workshop. This is just to help you hit the ground running.
We suggest that you have the spreadsheet downloaded and open on your laptop or tablet before you come.
